GoTriangle Food Drive set for Nov. 12 at two locations

food driveResearch Triangle Park, NC (Oct. 29, 2019) –  GoTriangle is sponsoring a food drive in November in the hope of filling up two buses with donations in advance of the holidays.

Residents are invited to drop off food from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at a parked bus at two locations:

  • Carter-Finley Park-and-Ride Lot, 4200 Trinity Road, Raleigh
  • Regional Transit Center, 901 Slater Road, Durham

“Being a good neighbor is a part of our mission at GoTriangle, and we’re excited to be able to head up this community effort,” says Christal DeCastro, operations supervisor at GoTriangle. “We are looking forward to seeing the generosity of our riders and other Triangle residents come through as we work together to help those around us who might not have enough food.”

The food will be given to the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina. The agency’s most needed items are:

  • Canned fruits and vegetables
  • Canned meat
  • Canned beans and soup
  • Cereal
  • Whole grain pasta and rice
  • Peanut butter
  • Pedialyte
  • Infant cereal
  • Fruit cups
  • Granola bars
  • Mac and cheese cups
  • Crackers
  • Juice boxes
