June 22nd, 2021 – The GoPerks Golden Modes
Join us as we celebrate the brightest stars of Triangle smart-commuting in an unprecedented year!
If you’re a GoPerks commuter, you already know the value of the program: winning gift cards for tasty treats and local events, while reducing traffic congestion on our roads, putting money into the local economy, and keeping harmful emissions out of our atmosphere! And every year we celebrate the very smartest of our commuters who’ve saved either 2 tons, 5 tons, or 10 tons of greenhouse gases with their smart choices. And in 2021, we’re shining a spotlight on those commuters who went above and beyond for all of us by meeting the challenges of 2020—the frontline, essential workers.
Featuring a welcome message from NC Health & Human Services Secretary Dr. Mandy Cohen, and a keynote address by Raleigh City Councilmember Corey Branch, the 2021 GoPerks Golden Modes will have something for everyone who wants to work together to keep building a stronger, healthier North Carolina. Please join us as we officially recognize the sponsors and commuters who made a dramatic difference to our air quality in 2020, with a special emphasis on the folks who met the extraordinary challenges of the year to keep the essential aspects of life in the Triangle going strong.

What is GoPerks?
GoTriangle has developed the GoPerks program to encourage Triangle-area drivers to try something besides riding alone and to support smart commuters to keep up the good work. Launched January 2015, the GoPerks program will continue GoTriangle’s goal of reducing traffic, helping employees save money, and improve the environment and quality of life by introducing prize drawings for smart commuters.
Get rewarded for your Go! With GoPerks, your smart commute by bus, bike, walk, carpool, or van can get you some cool stuff. It's pretty simple. Go smart, track your trip, get rewarded.

Who is Eligible for GoPerks?
GoPerks is only for employees who live or work in Durham, Orange or Wake counties. Participants must use a smart commute option to travel to work, such as carpooling, taking the bus, biking, walking, or using a vanpool, and track their trips in the Commute Calendar at STRNC.com.
Their employer is encouraged to register for the free Emergency Ride Home (ERH) program. ERH is free for employers and employees. It allows employees to have a free ride home on days they have unscheduled overtime or family emergencies and need to leave work early.
To join the GoPerks program, just visit STRNC.com. If you don’t have an account yet, complete the registration process. If you already have an account, congratulations! Just track a smart commute trip in your Commute Calendar to begin earning points for prize drawings. Check out these FAQs for more questions or call 919-485-7576 for assistance.
Using ShareThRideNC, Triangle area commuters can use an online calendar to track each day they use a smart commute. Each smart commute by carpool, vanpool, transit, biking or walking earns points. After tracking commute modes in the calendar on a monthly basis points are redeemed for entries in monthly drawings for gift certificates and prizes. Partnerships with employers and local businesses are fundamental to the success of this robust rewards program. The program is free but the rewards are priceless!
GoPerks Challenge Coins
GoPerks trip trackers are recording a record number of trips on ShareTheRideNC.org and we want to thank them with a unique and limited Challenge Coin that highlights greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction.

“I bike commute for the exercise, the convenience, the money savings and for the dose of fresh air first thing in the morning! Since I live only a couple of miles from campus, trying to park and walk to work just doesn’t make sense. I’ve been tracking my commute regularly since I started at UNC. I was immediately attracted to the idea of saving money through discounts and potentially winning prizes just by keeping track of what I was already doing on a daily basis. I love winning prizes for shops and restaurants that I regularly visit anyway, and it’s been fun to find out about local businesses I’ve previously never been to through the program as well. I’m a strong supporter of any program that incentivizes and makes more accessible alternatives to single-occupancy vehicles, especially for a place as congested as Chapel Hill!”~ Jordan Dalton, web and technology manager at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health
