A statement from GoTriangle’s interim President and CEO Shelley Blake Curran:

This is an unprecedented time. As the coronavirus situation continues to change rapidly, I wanted to update our community on the precautions GoTriangle is taking.

As a public transit agency, GoTriangle provides an essential community service, transporting first-responders, health care workers and other essential employees to their jobs. As such, we plan to continue to maintain our regular level of service for as long as possible and at the guidance of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the governor’s office and local and state health departments.

We all have our part to play in trying to control the spread of the coronavirus. Current recommendations are for anyone who doesn’t have to travel to stay home. For those who have to travel, regular hand-washing and social-distancing are essential.

At GoTriangle, we have secured a fogger that more widely administers a disinfectant inside buses, and we have begun a spraying regimen in addition to the precautions we were already taking. Those precautions include disinfecting all high-touch areas and seats on each bus every day and providing hand sanitizer for our passengers.

As you know, this is a fluid situation, and as conditions change, we will adjust our response as warranted at the direction of public health experts. We are committed to keeping our customers and employees informed through rider alerts, emails, social media posts and updates on our website here.

I also want to thank all of our employees who are keeping our buses running to provide the service our community continues to rely on.
