Finance team brings home prestigious award, again and again!
Congratulations to our Finance team for being awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting covering fiscal year 2022 from the Government Finance Officers of America.
The GFOA established the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program in 1945 to encourage and assist state and local governments to go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles as they prepare annual comprehensive financial reports. Those governments that attain the certificate display the spirit of transparency and full disclosure. GoTriangle has received this prestigious award for 29 years.
The Finance Team works diligently throughout the year to ensure that GoTriangle’s financial information is represented appropriately, from budget preparation and results reporting to financial analysis, says GoTriangle Chief Finance Officer Saundra Freeman. She says the process culminates at the end of each fiscal year with the team’s preparing GoTriangle’s annual audit and completing the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, which it then submits to the GFOA for review and consideration.
“This critical work is led by Ren Wiles, senior accountant, and Jennifer Hayden Keep, director of Finance and Administrative Services,” she says. “I am so proud of the entire team and their continued hard work and commitment to excellence in all that they do.”
